Fascinating little forms
Bacteriophages are fascinating to me. Do you know this feeling of joy from the science, when you think that man isn't a god but definitely turns up with extreme creativity? This is the feeling I get when I think of breeding bacteriophages and using them to heal from bacterial caused diseases.
This kind of phages have a funny shape, almost like little satellites, send by humans on an expedition (never mind their not man's creation). What these little friends, that appear blue on micrographs I've seen, infect bacterial cells, making them produce their parts and putting them together. When the new bacteriophages are ready, they burst the cell, leaving it and heading to the next bacterial cell.
Using bacteriophages is prospective as a way of healing diseases caused by bacteria, but too bad some of the most spread diseases are caused by viruses (like AIDS, by HIV and others..)

The use of phages as treatment began in the 1930s. This is prospective because there are a lot of multi-drug-resistant bacterial pathogens.
Although proving efficient in most cases, phage treatment is not allowed in some countries and is considered alternative to antibiotic treatment.

Science is the other name of utilizing nature for human benefits. Therefore every development in scientific especially medical research reflects an improved quality of life for human beings. So it would be wonderful and should be welcomed if we can use bacteriophages for the purposes that are beneficial for human health and may help them improve their quality of life.
