Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad

"The Nellie, a cruising yawl, swung to her anchor without a flutter of
the sails, and was at rest."

I've always liked how boats and ships in English are pictures as female. I give this one 4 out of 5, because it somehow gives me a feeling for a nice atmosphere.

Perhaps this is what they describe as giving life to materials. What a wonderful single sentence description that makes you visualize not only the object itself but its whole environment. Being a big fan of Joseph Conrad i have starred this sentence Excellent.

Which brings us to a good question: Why is it there are many ships named after a women? Some say it's because ships during the early period were named after Goddesses, while others portrays a ship as being like a cradle.
