I am not sure what the medical science has to say about this but being a patient of randomly recurred constipation i have tried this very successfully. Just drink a glass of milk before you go to bed at night regularly and it gives you a lot of relief even long term benefit if you remain consistent.

    Fiber for Constipation
Dietary fibers add to the bulk of the feces and therefore induces the intestinal tract to force it down the rectum. Grains, beans, seeds, fruits, vegetables etc have sufficient amounts of dietary fiber content. This is one of the most helpful constipation remedies.

    Orange for Constipation

Taking one or two oranges at bedtime and again on rising in the morning is an excellent way of stimulating the bowels. The general stimulating influence of orange juice excites peristaltic activity and helps prevent the accumulation of food residue in the colon.

One thing some people might not be aware of is that Constipation is not only about the food we take. We can also get it from medication. Surprised?

"Medications like opioids and certain cholesterol-lowering agents, anti-hypertensives, anti-Parkinson's agents, antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications, duodenal ulcer medication and over-the-counter products such as iron supplements may all cause constipation."
