    Blastocystis hominis

Blastocystis are a genus of micro-organisms and are called blastocystis hominis when they're found in humans.
Infection with them would lead to diarrhoea, bloating, itching as well as other symptoms. What the symptoms might show, these micro-organisms are found in the gastro-intestinal tract and are transmitted in fecal-oral way (e.g. contaminated water).
The interesting part about them is that it is very likely for a host of blastocystis not to show any symptoms.

Prevention of this disease has a lot to do with the food that we eat and prepare. We must cook our food well and stay from half-cooked or raw ones. Making sure we drink clean water is also very important.
